Default swarming

Hi,

I bet nobody wants to tell the best places, but I thought maybe you guys share some. So what's the best non-summoning/casting swarming zone around?

I can't try it out atm, but I made a list I would probably try myself in near future.

1) Old Commonlands - would I survive 50+ mobs? Gotta find out. I could kill whole 1 camp (around 12 mobs) without much trouble. No good corner to pin self.
2 ) PoF - old zone, not much exp from there I guess. But training all C2+fields would yield some? gotta test
3) thalassius and ashengate - raid level gear required?
4) FoS - this one I tried. trained all animals from north/east side of the zone. not much exp, thou its easy. If I had raid gear I'd probably try train all iksars from castle/open area and see what happens. there are LOADS of mobs and killing 100+ at once could be pretty awesome :)

fos is a crowded zone with not many mobs.. swarming there is just plain idiotic and a prime zone to generate complaints from other players.

I always do thal. avoid riposte damage etc on pulls. make sure Willful Death and Steadfast Will are maxed, as that will aid in your ability to pull while swarming, and in general.

Mobs do summon there, but if you get into a corner and cycle through the caster mobs first, you should be ok. I disliked AG swarming so i personally do not recommend it...although i guess i should go back and give it a try.

Usually I do Thalassius, maybe not the biggest swarms, like 15-20 usually. Getting me 12-14AA per burn, decent enough for the half hour aI get to play most days.

Some days I've been playing in the 'Great Invasion' mission from TBS (only because I've been leveling up archery agains teh perma rooted, non-summoning mobs in it) and the swarms there aren't so bad either. Though it doesn't repop so I don't really try to actually swarm in it - it just happens as I run to the bottom floor.

gear you have in signature is up to date?

I was in thalassius long time ago, trying to afk exp there, but mobs were runners and I quit trying.

PoF is excellent, got room to play with train. in tight areas it's really hard to get good trains and position them.

also unsavory sacrifice is pretty good stuff, but really hard to position pet. even with /pet hold my pet will still assist and attack in middle of pulling and gets owned. gonna need pet /guard and feign I think. then for sure he wount be moving.

Yeah pretty much. I do burn through all my mana and discs/abilities, and occasionally die to a large pull. But I seem to gain more than I lose so I plug away at it.

Get the pet discipline AA, pet will never attack unless you tell him to.

Buried Sea:
1 spot you can try is the buried sea. Go to the northern most island there is a fort there. do outside as 1 pull, then past the first gates as number 2, and past the 2nd gate as pull 3. I get 8aa per pass of all 3 pulls. This is were I learned to swarm kill its an easy spot and most folks skip it because of the locked gates. Its especialy good if you cant do all of 1 section in a pull say maybe half. That way by the time you are finished in the last gated area the outside area is respawning.

Ashengate:
Another good area is in ashengate east wing. Make your camp by the bolders east of the griffon trainer spawn point. When you get going you can easily enough keep clear all the way from the east wing entrance and all of the griffon trainers room. You can do the dragons past there also but they gate so its really anoying. I cant say the rate of exp while solo here because I always drag my 2 boxes along and a healer merc. But even with 4 in the group IIRC I was getting at least 5 per lessons burn at 1800AA.

Plane of Fire C2:
Fire C2 is a good spot for lower level folks to begin swarm killing but after 1kish AA's or lvl 80ish its not worth it. At 85 with 1800AA's you will get 2 AA's roughly from clearing all of C2. When you are pulling swarms here though the best spot I have found is the first corner to your right on the bottom floor of reparms tower. You are hiding behind a corner so all the caster running in from outside will not stay back and cast they will get up close enough to hit.

Frost Crypt: I dont really like swarm killing here as the pathing in the zone is just disgusting.

Living Larder(normal): You can get in here through several missions but if you have easy access to 2 other boxes and just leave them at the quest giver the xp here can be very decent. They hit under 1k max IIRC and in a group of 4 were giving 2% aaxp per kill. There is maybe 60 or 70 mobs to be pulled in 1 clear then you just drop and request the mission again. The good part about this is there doesnt seem to be many casters pathing is good and the mobs stack on top of each other way better then the ones in places like Thal. So you dont have to worry so much about not being able to repoiste all the mobs who are hitting you.

Dreadspire Keep: Again another semi lower zone. I really like swarming here except for the fact that once in a while the zone seems to be broken on pathing and you will get trained by alot more mobs then you thought you would. Then again maybe thats a good thing in this case. My favorite spot here is past the left hand side of the ballroom. Go down past the first room in which about 9 mobs spawn(1named) go down the ramp and setup in the left corner at the bottom of the first small ramp before it turns into a cave. You will start by pulling the top area you just came through first. Then go down the cave which splits to a 4way dont bother going to the right as this is just a stupid quest named. Get the mobs all the way down in the cave to the square hole in the floor and drag em back toy our corner. Next pull you will go to the left at the cave 4way. If you get all those killed you can try pulling from more then just the first room to the left of the 4way but there isnt to many mobs past the initial room. Over all the exp is ok and a nice change of pace. Mobs hit around 1k max. I would avoid the ballroom mobs themselves as they cast a stun which can really screw things up.

Fort Mech:
I like to swarm in the bots head right beside the spawn point for the named bug aug dropper. I generaly take it easy here and do both rooms in 4 maybe 5 pulls. The exp is tolerable but about the same as Thal with a slower kill rate. I think I was getting 5AA per clear with a group of 5.

Hills of shade: I havent tried swarm killing here but I thought I would mention it because at level 80 in a full group we were killing in the tunels to the east of zone in and keeping them fully clear with constant pulls. I will have to give this a try and see how it turns out.

Loping Plains: The goblin fort to the far right as you zone in is another decent spot. Not only do you get all the xp from killing the 25 or so goblins you can also request 3 quests form the guys at the zone entrance for about 4 aa per clearing of the goblin fort.

Bloodmoon Keep: I have only swarm killed here in raids and with healers all being lazy and not bothering to heal as we zerg up to raid zone in there isnt to much trouble staying alive and IIRC they are all dark blue mobs. If you go in the 2nd doorway from the left you will go through about 5 rooms packed full of ghosts to kill. They hit about 1500Max IIRC but generally much lower.
